Hey there gamers!
All of us here at PGL want everyone to know that we are very much alive and cooking for our big debut this coming July. PGL has also changed its title to EGL (Electronic Gaming League) so as we do not confuse our organization with the other PGL that has also launched. The website address will remain as Philgamingleague.com for now.
This is a copy of our confirmation date with one of the owners of Mineski Infinity. The games that will be played are DOTA, and Call of Duty 4 (Modern Warfare 2 is still unplayable in most Lan shops). The entrance fee is only 150Pesos.
“July 10 and 17 2010 1pm-6pm All Pcs will be locked for your usage. 160 pcs X 5 Hours *If at any case there are spoiled pcs during the event the deductions to the billing will be followed accordingly *announcement of tournament will be posted in the cafe notices area 1 week prior to the event date.. *50% downpayment is required 1 week prior to the event date. *Sponsor banners are allowed to be displayed on the event date itself *event poster can be posted 2 weeks prior to the event.”
I am also writing to address the key issue of our funding, which some gaming pinoy networks have been asking me about. Gamers are wondering if EGL can walk the walk and the answer is YES. Electronic Gaming League is an organization that earns through the help of sponsorships and online advertisements. The reason as to why the site has been pretty quiet is because just like any business, it takes time for connections to be made. Also, I have been busy managing my other business, which is currently the life line of EGL. My other business has granted me the opportunity to pump funds into EGL, thus I hope you may forgive the temporary absence. My other business is brimming with profit therefore EGL is brimming with life.
As of now EGL has accomplished the following:
- I-hooked, Station 168 and Mineski have agreed to partner up with EGL’s cause.
- We have also sent notice to many more computer shop chains and are currently negotiating for packages and long term partnerships.
- EGL is currently in the process of finalizing a never before seen Ladder System which will allow casual games played at some of our partnered computer shops to be recorded and ranked on our website, and at every partnered comp shop. Points earned by individuals or teams will have a chance at winning cash and sponsor prizes. (More about this system will come shortly on our website.)
- Word about EGL has spread like fire across the gaming community in the span of only 2 months; Game! Magazine has expressed its interest to sponsor us and we have also met up with editors from Play Ground Magazine who express their curiosity at what EGL is capable of fulfilling. We hope both magazines, as well as the rest of the gaming community will support us and help spread the word!

As it is a long time coming before our big day, we ask you not to worry because we hope to fill the site up with game reviews, unique gaming feature articles, EGL comics and more to come!
Sincerely,
Rafael Conehead Conejos
